DPL 3rd ANNUAL
GOLF CLASSIC MISSION:

The Dallas Parochial League organizes and administrates athletic leagues and events for its' 30 member schools throughout the year. The DPL offers 11 sports during the school year for its' students to participate. The league's mission is to provide organized leagues, which allow for both competition and participation while representing Christ, school, family, and self.

The Dallas Parochial League also awards Student-Athlete Scholarships for deserving students who excel in the classroom, as well as on the court or in the field. Applicants must possess scholarship, good citizenship, and have played in at least one DPL sport during the previous school year. The winners' scholarship funds are directed toward assisting with their school tuition. The past two years, the DPL has awarded thirteen talented young student-athletes with $ 500.00 each toward this cause.

The schools of the Dallas Parochial League provide approximately 45% of the cost for operating the DPL, with team fees helping to cover another 25%. The Dallas Parochial League relies greatly on sponsorships of this Golf Classic to make up the difference. Our goal is to price the golf at a "break-even" amount so as to draw participation from as many schools as possible. We count on your sponsorships and participation in side-games at the tournament to help us reach our goal.

The DPL asks for your support through participation and or sponsorship of the 3rd Annual DPL Golf Classic. This support will allow for our continued growth, as we strive in our effort of meeting the ever-increasing needs of our student-athletes. In turn, the DPL Golf Classic wants to develop a reputation for providing the best golf tournament possible by providing you with a completely enjoyable and pampered experience. You'll get all this while playing at one of the finest courses in the DFW area…..and hopefully….return for many years to come.

3rd Annual DPL Golf Classic
Adults' Tournament

TEAM COMPOSITION:
This tournament is open to any individuals / teams with a desire to support the DPL and enjoy an afternoon of golf and camaraderie. 
Teams will be comprised of four players each, with the top early bird sponsors receiving a 5th (local celebrity) golfer. All participants will receive lunch, a fantastic goody bag, cart, golf, team photo, dinner, and guaranteed door prize.

FORMAT:
Tournament will be limited to the first 60 teams with paid entry. Both the Kings & Queens Courses will be used at Gleneagles CC. Florida Scramble rules will be used. Teams will compete against other teams on their golf course. Mulligan will be available for purchase at the registration table. 

PRIZES:
Fabulous Golf Prizes will be given on each course to:
The top two teams (Gross).
The top three teams (Net: cannot be Gross winners).
The Last Place team.
Long Drive Champ on selected hole.
Closest to the Pin on selected hole.
Automobiles for Hole-in-One on selected hole.

Prizes will consist of merchandise and Gleneagles Pro Shop Gift Certificates.
*Pro Shop will be open all day for your convenience.

PUTTING CONTEST :
Players can select from a variety of putts. The longer the putt, the greater the odds and potential prize pay-off. You pick the difficulty. You pick the wager. This is risk / reward at its' best.

HOLE IN ONE:
Any participant making a Hole in One on the designated holes will receive the automobile displayed at that tee box.

1ST ANNUAL
DPL DIRECTOR'S CUP
The 3rd Annual DPL Golf Classic will be our biggest and best yet. However, it is also our most critical to date in terms of fund-raising needs. Given that, we are initiating a new contest that will be carried on for years to come as an incentive for schools to more actively participate in this, our one and only, annual fund-raiser.

How does it work?

Schools will compete by supplying golfers, sponsors, and donors (goody bag items, door prizes, auction items, etc.) to the 3rd Annual DPL Golf Classic to be held on June 16, 2003 at Gleneagles C.C. in Plano, Texas. The school, which contributes the MOST VALUE to the tournament in RELATION to its ENROLLMENT, will be declared the WINNER of the 1st Annual DPL Director's Cup. All contributions will be counted at the following rates:

As you can see, even the smallest of assistance will be rewarded. When a lot give a little….the result is GREAT !!!

The WINNING SCHOOL will be announced at the post-tourney dinner / auction. This school will receive:

A $250.00 check for the Athletic Director at the winning school.
A $250.00 gift certificate to be used for athletic merchandise at an urban school.
A FREE ASSESSMENT from the DPL for the 2003-04 school year for an urban school.

Please note:

  • All schools which do not win the Director's Cup will still receive their normal complement of home games. The integrity of the schedule will remain in tact. 

  • This only applies to the REGULAR SEASON. The Director's Cup DOES NOT apply to the play-offs.

  • Any school chosen in Option B is exempt from consideration to be chosen in the subsequent year. A.K.A. "Nobody gets picked on twice in a row".

  • All awards received by urban schools are to be determined by blind draw.

  • All scholarships will be added to the scholarship program….not take the place of existing scholarships.

(less than Gleneagles regular green fees with lunch, dinner, goody bag, and door prize to boot) 


ENTRY FEE PER TEAM if payment received after May 21st, but before the day of the tournament = $ 600.00 per team / $150.00 per player
